Week #4: Nothing Compares to Grandma's Cooking

Mother's food is always one of the best. The taste or smell itself can take you back to childhood... but grandmas food is a pure magic. Your grandma might not be in Istanbul, but there is a Grandma in Istanbul. That's a great news, isn't it? She ıs waiting for you every day, just behind the Teşvikiye mosque (Nişantaşı).

And what is on a menu today? As at every grandma's, also at Grandma's, you have a plenty of different types of dishes to choose from: traditional recipes enriched with grandma's twists ... and (a good news for everyone who has a sweet tooth) lots of cakes and pastries! They all look amazing and yummy.

Breakfast at Grandma is tasty as well. Grandma's breakfast costs 44 TL and it includes enough food for 2 or even 3 people. Besides the usual, it includes also dulce de leche. As I was eating alone, I had a Simit tabağı, menemen (with labne cheese) and tea.

If you cannot resist the look at all these cakes and pastries, which greet you at the entrance, then you might consider of having a light breakfast and indulge in cakes afterwards.
